I am a contemporary California artist focused primarily on figurative art in a variety of mediums.
I create works in acrylic paint, watercolor, charcoal and pencil and printmaking.
I find people and animals movements endlessly fascinating and one of my goals is to capture the gesture.
My process is evolving. Every piece begins as an image from either reality or my imagination. From there it finds it’s way toward it’s final form, whether ending up as an academic painting, Pop art, abstraction or anywhere in between.
Currently my paintings are as much about adding and subtracting paint, creating texture and layering colors from which the image emerges. I work the surface until nothing more can be done.
My guiding philosophy is to create art that I would hang in my house.
